Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day June 1st

This video was made on the first Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day  June 1st 2016.

This video by Inner Integration promotes awareness of narcissistic abuse. Considering what a huge problem narcissistic abuse is in our society, it is receiving way to little attention. Meredith talks about what narcissistic abuse is, the effects on the victim, the signs of abuse to look for, the blindness of our culture to it and what that means for the people effected by it, especially for children of narcissistic parents.

Inner Integration emphasizes how unaware our society is of this abuse and that narcissistic abuse is not just something that occurs between adult partners, but between the narcissistic parent and their child and in any other relationship with a narcissist.

She makes the following suggestions of what should be happening instead:

- "we should be mobilizing a lot more resources towards public awareness campaigns
- people should be educating schools what to look for
- people should be educating kids in schools what to look for in their parents, what to look for in their  pears, what to look for out in the world as they grow up
- this should be happening on college campuses
- this should be happening all over the place
- in the dating world people should be talking about this
- in work trainings"

It's up to all of us who realize, who see it's happened, especially those of us who have been through it, we have to stand up and we have to say it happened to me and I'm not ashamed to admit that and I'm going to speak my truth."
